Tacoma, Wash. –Mounting safety concerns in energy production environments prompted Lighthouse Tool Co. to make some adjustments to the standard FlangeKing® blade tip. Many refineries and terminals have been happy to use FlangeKing® with its 90-degree corner blade, while facilities with accidents in the recent past wanted a softer edge that still offered superior flange face cleaning.
The Lighthouse Tool Co. team came back to the drawing board to develop FK08-45 and FK16-45. Both models feature 45-degree corners at the end of the blade for added protection against hand injury from misuse. These softened corners remain beveled like the original and bring ease to the process of cleaning the flange face, leaving a smooth surface free of debris and grime. This new model comes equipped with our trademark gasket hook and molded handle.
Available in 8-inch and 16-inch blade lengths, FK45’s are built to suit production and storage facilities with varying pipe size. All models include our heavy-duty nylon sheath with belt loop for safe and easy access throughout your workday.
